  2. Meansmith structures the facts.

The relevant business and financing facts become a financing request a financing provider can evaluate. Financing type is optional.

  3. Review the acknowledgement, then send.

Before anything is sent, you read how Meansmith handles your details and when they may be shared with a financing provider, and you confirm it.

Answers

Is Meansmith a lender?

No. Meansmith is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. A financing provider makes any financing or credit decision.

What can Meansmith help me do?

Start a business financing request from what your business is trying to fund. You give the goal, the amount you have in mind and the relevant business facts; Meansmith turns that into a structured financing request that a financing provider can evaluate. You do not need to choose a loan type or a lender first.

What information will I be asked for?

The purpose of the financing, the amount you have in mind and, only if you have one, a financing type. A few facts about the business: its name, the state it is based in, its industry, time in business, approximate monthly revenue and your own estimate of your credit range.

For property purposes, whether the property will be occupied and whether the borrower would be the business or you personally. Then your name, email and phone.

No Social Security number, date of birth, bank login, tax return or document upload.

Why do you ask for these details?

They are the facts a financing provider needs in order to evaluate a business financing request: what the money is for, how much, and the shape of the business behind it. Ranges and estimates are fine. Meansmith does not check your credit as part of this request; the credit range is your own estimate, and any financing provider has its own evaluation process.

What happens when I send the request?

Before sending, you review an acknowledgement that states in full how Meansmith handles your details and when they may be shared with a financing provider, and you confirm it. Sending is not an approval, an offer or a credit decision. If Meansmith needs more information about the request, we will contact you at the email address or phone number you gave.

What if I am looking for personal or home financing?

This request is for business financing only. If you need financing for yourself, your household or a home you live in, choosing that when you start points you to independent educational resources instead. We do not take your details for it.
